Our Programs

Pre-school programs

We have a low child-adult ratio - no more than 5 to 1 in both programs.

Morning Program 9:30am - 12:30pm
The morning program has a Director, a Teacher, 5 parents, and 25 children. The day begins at 9:30am with free play and activity choices including art, daily hikes, dramatic play, journals, woodworking, manipulatives, cooking, blocks, tactile play, and gross motor movement play. We come together at circle time to read, sing, and do rhythm activities before snack. The children then have outdoor playtime consisting of tricycles, climbing, nature, art, swings and dramatic play. A brief outdoor circle ends the program at 12:30pm.

Afternoon Program 12:30pm - 3:30pm
The afternoon program begins at 12:30pm with a Director, a Teacher, 3 parents, and 19 children. We have lunch together and afterward the children choose from various indoor and outdoor experiences such as art, science, nature, climbing, hiking, manipulatives, dramatics, blocks, and tactile play. After clean up time we have our first circle with singing games, creative movement, and time to discuss the day's activities. The day ends at 3:30pm with snack and a story.

The Application Process

For the current year - 2019-20 school year:

We are currently full for the 2019-2020 school year. If you are interested in learning more about admissions, please see below or contact us at membership@glenridgecoop.org. For all other requests please contact us at info@glenridgecoop.org.

For next year - 2020-21 school year:

1.

Attend a Prospective Parent Meeting (PPM)

At the Prospective Parent Meeting, Glenridge parents and the director will provide information about parent responsibilities, cost, and the developmentally appropriate curriculum. There will be a brief tour of each classroom and a question and answer period. The PPM is for PARENTS ONLY; please do not bring children, other than infants. PPMs are held at the school, rain or shine. The program begins at 11:00am and ends at about 12:30pm. If your child will be 3 on or before December 1, 2020, then sign up for a Prospective Parent Meeting.

UPDATE

Thank you for your interest in Glenridge. We currently have openings in both the morning and afternoon programs for the 2020-21 school year.

Because of the SF DPH order to shelter in place, we have postponed the March 22nd Prospective Parent Meeting. We will reschedule the informational meeting and schedule school tours as soon as it is safe to do so. Please check this page for updates.

If you have questions or want us to contact you directly when the PPM and tours are rescheduled, please contact the Glenridge admissions team: membership@glenridgecoop.org

2.

Schedule a visit to the school with your child

After you have attended a PPM, you will be able to schedule a visit to the school with your child, where you will have an opportunity to observe your child in the classroom. You can speak to current Glenridge parents and staff members, who will answer any questions.

3.

Submit a completed application with $35.00 application fee

You can pick up a Glenridge application at the PPM, and mail it in once you have completed the PPM and tour.

Scholarships

Each year, Glenridge offers a limited number of scholarships to families who feel they need it. Scholarship forms are available during the enrollment process. Application and recipient names remain confidential. Scholarships are also available throughout the school year should a need arise.
